It would be great if the IGDA would allow members to buy in on the same health plan that they offer to employees, unsubsidized of course. I've been meaning to write to Jason DeLaRoca to that effect. There is an association in NYC for freelance writers (http://www.mediabistro.com/) that provides group health care in NYC for its members and I imagine that similar things must exist or be possible elsewhere.
